Actress Reveals What Taylor Swift Smells Like

After meeting her backstage, a Norwegian actress has provided insight into what Taylor Swift smells like.

These days, Swift is a core part of the cultural zeitgeist, and her fans—otherwise known as Swifties—are often desperate to find out new information about their favorite singer.

Posting to Instagram, a woman named Mathilde Ullum shared a picture of herself with the singer at the Eras Tour concert in Stockholm, Sweden, on May 18. Ullum is an actress and host of the podcast 730.no, for which she interviews “Norway’s biggest stars.”

“Was going to the bathroom, ended up backstage, but a very nice girl showed me the way,” she joked in the caption.

When a commenter asked her what Swift smelled like, Ullum responded alongside a variety of crying emojis: “Success.”

Ullum’s photo was then shared to X (formerly Twitter) by the Swift fan account @TheSwiftSociety—and it has since gone viral.

“A fan met Taylor Swift backstage after trying to find the bathroom at The Eras Tour. ‘A very nice girl showed me the way,'” the caption reads. At the time of writing, the post had been viewed 2.6 million times.

A community note, which allows people to add context such as fact-checks under a post, was eventually added: “The person next to Taylor is not a fan. It is a famous actress, Mathilde Deullum [sic], who jokingly said in her Instagram caption that she ‘got lost.’ The Eras Tour has several layers of security which would not enable any fan to stumble across Taylor.”

“Tss, she is Mathilda Ullum, an actress! Lol,” one person wrote.

“It’s not a regular fan it’s an actress and she was at the VIP tent,” another person said, also sharing a screenshot of Ullum’s Instagram story that showed her in the VIP section.

“She was in the vip tent last night and went to the bathroom, also during caridgan [sic], and they were escorted back stage and they were escorted out after the show [crying emoji]. Don’t give people false hope please. My friend saw it,” someone else commented.

A fourth person added: “Girl … she’s an actress. It’s a joke.”

Swift has had a phenomenal year since she started the Eras Tour in March 2023. It became the highest-grossing live music tour long before it hit the halfway point of its 152 shows worldwide.

The tour is set to conclude in December 2024. It’s seen unprecedented demand and has made over $1 billion—breaking the record for the highest-grossing tour of all time, according to Guinness World Records.

Swift took the record-breaking tour to Stockholm from May 17 to 19, with her next tour date on May 24 in Lisbon, Portugal.

After completing the European leg of her tour in the middle of August, she will make a few last-minute appearances in American cities including Miami, New Orleans and Indianapolis. She’s scheduled to end her tour in Canada, with multiple shows in November and December. The tour is expected to conclude on December 8 in Vancouver, five days before her 35th birthday on December 13.
