Meghan Markle reportedly “could’t stand” being Prince Harry and experienced a chaotic meltdown just moments after talking to CBS, where she emotionally opened up on her battles against mental health on Sunday, August 4.
The Duchess of Sussex revealed the amount of online hatred and bullying took a significant toll on the ex-Suits actress as she and her husband called for parents to be accepting and attentive to their children’s needs.
The television appearance came after they launched the Parent Network website, aiming to offer parents somewhere to turn to if they feel their child is being bullied online, and was their first since their infamous Oprah Winfrey chat.
“For their first sit-down together since Oprah Winfrey,” Angela Levin, a Royal biographer, claimed to Dan Wootton. “Back on CBS with another experienced American TV professional.
“Despite all that, it was a real car crash. She was screaming at producers and very annoyed about what they asked her.
“She couldn’t contain her anger and fury, and couldn’t stand Harry speaking. They’re really angry at each other but they can’t really separate. He’s in a very very bad way.”
Meghan Markle’s mental health battles
Markle has spoken openly about her mental health struggles, particularly during her time as a member of the British royal family, especially when she spoke with Oprah in 2021.
In the Oprah interview, Meghan revealed that she experienced severe mental health challenges, including suicidal thoughts and described feeling overwhelmed by the pressures and scrutiny of royal life.
Particularly the intense media attention and lack of support from within the royal institution after she sought help but was told that she could not seek professional treatment because it would not look good for the Royal Family.
The media’s portrayal of her in the British press has been widely criticized for being harsh and, at times, accused of being racially biased with journalists such as Piers Morgan taking a particular interest in her.
