Coco Gauff won the 2024 WTA Finals title on Saturday, November 9, defeating Zheng Qinwen 3-6, 6-4, 7-6(2) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This victory marks her third title of the season and the ninth of her career.
Gauff’s run to the final in Riyadh earned her an impressive $3,535,000. This included a $335,000 participation fee, $700,000 for her two round-robin victories over Iga Swiatek and Jessica Pegula, and $2,500,000 for reaching the championship match.
Similarly, Zheng received a substantial $2,305,000 paycheck, which included a $335,000 participation fee, $700,000 for her two group-stage wins against Elena Rybakina and Jasmine Paolini, and $1,270,000 for advancing through the semifinals and winning the title.
Semifinalists Aryna Sabalenka and Barbora Krejcikova also had a solid payday, each earning $1,035,000. The Belarusian won two round-robin matches against Paolini and Zheng but lost to Rybakina and Gauff in the semifinals. The Czech, meanwhile, lost one group-stage match to Swiatek before falling to Zheng in the last four.
Swiatek, Paolini, and Rybakina were all eliminated in the round-robin stage. The Pole earned a total of $1,035,000, while the other two each took home $685,000.
Pegula earned $335,000 despite losing two round-robin matches before withdrawing from the WTA Finals due to a left knee injury. Her replacement, Daria Kasatkina, stepped in for the final group-stage match against Swiatek, where she lost, bagging $140,000.
