Despite her long list of successes that require no introduction, why do Taylor Swift’s detractors seem intent on criticising her style?
On Friday night, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce went out with friends Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds for dinner at The Corner Store in Soho, New York City. Swift was wearing a lacy, netted, nude-and-black corset by Gucci for the occasion that was covered in the brand’s iconic monogram and resembled lingerie. She paired it with a black leather skirt, Louis Vuitton Roxy ankle boots and over her outfit she wore a classic Polo Ralph Lauren camel coat.
As for the accessories, Swift wore a Dior Saddle bag and gold jewellery, including a chunky chain necklace and Louis Vuitton Blossom ring. The whole ensemble felt seriously Reputation-coded – and if the corset looks familiar, that’s because Dakota Johnson has previously worn it on the red carpet, too (in 2021, to be specific).
Kelce, meanwhile, wore a navy blue top from Jacquemus with a pair of matching blue trousers and white trainers. On his wrist was a gold bracelet. He held Swift’s hand as they headed out of the restaurant.
Blake Lively was wearing a semi-sheer mesh dress in deep brown with matching fishnet tights and Valentino Soul Rockstud boots. Around her neck she wore a gold choker necklace. Ryan Reynolds was wearing a pair of blue trousers with a white shirt featuring a navy collar and a zipper up the front.
The foursome have been spotted spending time together before, most recently at Swift’s Rhode Island house party in August. The occasion marked the end of Swift’s European Eras Tour leg. She is set to travel around North America again this month. The pop star and the NFL player have been very busy, especially as the new football season has commenced. After missing several games, Swift was in attendance when the Kansas City Chiefs won against the New Orleans Saints last week.
A source told Us Weekly earlier this month, ‘They’re spending as much time together as possible while balancing their careers and individual responsibilities—his game and her music empire, along with personal projects.’
