EXCLUSIVE: Prince Harry reveals ‘what he misses most about being a working royal’ on UK trip
Prince Harry finished his three day trip in the UK and it made him realize that he misses meeting with the public, experts says. Harry was back home for an Invictus Games event.
Prince Harry finished his three day trip in the UK for an Invictus Games event and has already landed in Nigeria with wife Meghan Markle.
The Duke returned to the UK on Wednesday for an Invictus Games event and attended a service at St. Paul’s Cathedral to mark the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, a groundbreaking sports competition for ex-service people that Harry founded back in 2014. Outside of the cathedral, a crowd was heard cheering Harry and cheering, ” we love you Harry.”
Royal expert Tom Quinn told The Mirror that during the Duke of Sussex’s UK visit, he must have realised he missed one thing: meeting with the public.
Quinn claimed: “The one part of being a working role that Harry really misses is the chance to meet the public – however insecure he feels as a royal, he has always felt totally secure as a celebrity. This has its origins in the fact that when he was a teenager, he had to employ a full-time secretary just to deal with his fan mail.”
He continued: “Harry always enjoyed Royal walkabouts and the chance to meet an adoring public. And to some extent they still are adoring – outside St Paul’s for a short while as Harry shook hands and smiled for his fans, the crowd sang ‘we love you Harry’.”
While hearing the chants, Harry was seen with a brave face but still kept his cool and smiled. The Duke of Sussex was solo as the Royal Family did not make it to the event to show their support. He did get support from the late Princess Diana’s brother, Earl Charles Spencer and his aunt Lady Jane Fellowes.
