Jason Kelce reveals the surprising talent of his wife Kylie that ‘helped’ them during their visit to Paris, “If I was not with Kylie, I guarantee they would f—ing hate me”
Jason Kelce isn’t so sure he would have been as loved in Paris during his recent visit to France’s capital city had he not been accompanied by his very talented wife, Kylie.
The former NFL star, who retired earlier this year after 13 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, recently spent some time in the City of Love to spectate at the 2024 Summer Olympics. He reflected on that experience in a new episode of the Green Light with Chris Long podcast released on Friday, Aug. 9
Jason, 36, described his time in Paris as “awesome,” noting this summer’s trip was his first time there since he and Kylie visited the city on their honeymoon. While a lot has changed for the couple in the three years since—including the addition of their three young daughters—Jason explained that there is one talent his wife has retained that made their most recent vacation go by smoothly.
“She says she’s not fluent, but she sounds fluent,” the former Eagles center said of Kylie. “So, to me, she’s fluent. She speaks impeccable French to the point that, every time she speaks it, the other French people—the Parisians—are complimenting her on her accent. Or, they think we’re Canadian.”
Traveling with a companion who is nearly fluent in French “helps” them while navigating the city, he continued. “I don’t think they like tourists in general. I think they get overwhelmed,” he said, adding that American visitors can be “loud” and “rambunctious.”
“If I was not with Kylie, I guarantee they would f—ing hate me,” Jason said with a laugh. “They deal with me because I’m with Kylie.”
Regardless of how Jason believes he is perceived abroad, his American fans have loved watching his antics in Paris as he walked around the city wearing a black beret and accepting an arm wrestling challenge from Olympic rugby player Ilona Maher.
