Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift are finding it tough to be apart, with the NFL star now back in Kansas City for Chiefs training camp after a summer in Europe with his superstar girlfriend. According to insiders, the couple is struggling with the challenges of long-distance romance.
Travis is hating the long-distance aspect,” a source revealed to Life & Style on Friday. “He can’t skip training camp, and his schedule is packed with only short breaks, while Taylor’s European tour dates keep her busy for the next month.”
The source added that the couple is “freaking out” about being apart. Swift has even considered flying back to Kansas City during her brief breaks. “She would fly all night just to have a few hours with him,” the insider shared. “She doesn’t care about anything but seeing him.
The love story began almost a year ago
Their romance sparked public interest over a year ago when Kelce attended Swift’sEras Tour show at Arrowhead Stadium and later revealed on the New Heights podcast that he had tried to give her his phone number disguised as a friendship bracelet.
“I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows to save her voice,” Kelce said. When his brother Jason asked if he meant his phone or jersey number, Travis cheekily replied, “You know which one.”
Swift later confirmed to TIME Magazine that they had been dating secretly for a while before publicly revealing their relationship at a Chiefs-Bears game last September.
We started hanging out right after [the podcast episode],” Swift explained. “We had a significant amount of time that no one knew about, which was great for getting to know each other.”
As their schedules continue to keep them apart, fans are left wondering how the power couple will manage to maintain their relationship. But one thing is clear: both Kelce and Swift are determined to make it work, no matter the distance.
