Naomi Osaka catches the eye with her spectacular dress at the US Open and leaves Serena Williams’ style as understated
Naomi Osaka has impressed fans with her outfit rather than her tennis skills so far at the US Open.
Ahead of the grand slam in New York which is now underway, Osaka created a storm on social media as she seemed to channel her inner Serena Williams with a bold outfit choice.
The outfit in question was actually worn whilst she was on court. Gauff won her first round clash against Latvia’s Jelena Ostapenko and whilst booking her second round ticket, she wore a Nike-sponsored shirt with green detailing and a big green silky bow at the back.
She also wore a ruffled, green skirt that also featured a bow at the back. There were also bows at the ankles of her trainers, meaning there was an obvious theme to the outfit and she has set the standard very high for the next round.
Serena Williams’ new brand
While this former US Open champion presented an interesting US Open look, she also became a perfect example for her idol, Williams’ slogan for her brand WYN Beauty.
Williams returned to the tournament but in a different role. This time, Williams engages with the tournament as a beauty founder for WYN Beauty.
Talking about the brand, Williams said: “I created Wyn Beauty to be active beauty. Active doesn’t always mean sport. I think moms are very active, and everyday women are very active, You can be strong and beautiful at the same time, Most of the time, you only see these athletes when they’re playing, and so they want to be able to present themselves the best way they can.”
